As I held this fascinating gizmo thing in my hands, little did I know that beating in its heart was a transistor that would replace vacuum tubes and miles of wiring and start the age of technology.
Aliens had nothing to do with it. Or the Pyramids. Or the tribal ground markings in South America or crop circles anywhere on the planet.
I have to stick up for the Earthlings who actually did the research and work. Thomas Edison wasn't an alien and Alexander Graham Bell wasn't an alien. Charles Lindburg wasn't and either was John Wayne.
They were ordinary Americans with extraordinary talents. Celebrate them! You don't have to give credit to a freaky alien conspiracy no one can look at or touch or read up about. It was people, your neighbors, your friends. No superhuman, comic book characters and secret societies involved.
Actually Alexander Graham Bell was Scottish and went to the US via Canada. So other countries could produce extraordinary people, where John Wayne fits into this baffles me.
I liked him though, but he was always John Wayne playing John Wayne.
I made my first transistor radio around 1957 using parts liberated from the company I worked for. It was basically a crystal set with a few transistors in it. Nothing at that time could beat a radio with valves and I built a so called Super Heterodyne set that pulled in the world on short wave.
To keep this thread on topic I have never actually seen an alien from another world but if I do I'll take a photo of it with my cell phone if it lets me and post it here first.
