Re: I don't want air conditioning.
Thanks for the advice. I really appreciate the the members that will answer a question opposed to just critiszing it. I do respect all advice tho. Enough negative comments have made me defer from projects before. As for the battery, I think I will do Rob's lightweight battery. Anybody got reviews? My decision in removing the A/C will stand for 2 reasons. One, I get that it gets hot in MI occasionally, but I will re-state that my XF is not my daily. I put less than a hundred miles on it last year. I can choose to drive it in only the most favorable conditions. Second, I am an antisocial 21 year old who gets more out of touching German cars than socializing with peers. I have been known to perform unneccary maintenance on my A4 out of boredom. So how ever little the gain, taking it off and even putting it back on if need be would be the opposite of an inconvenience to me. People that have told me to leave things alone in the past and present are smart people who really understand cars, but do not understand my sittuation. Taking time out to try new projects is what keeps me going. So, back on topic, I think for power steering, as a novice driver, I may want to keep that. As for the part number--MurderedXF, how do you know that that belt is the right one for an A/C bypass? Just curious. Thanks all.
