Hey there fate I know I'm a little late with this reply, I'm also from Australia and own an SRT black convertible roaster crossfire 2006 model. I have had mine since brand new I have well under 55,000kms and have never had a problem with mine.
I have also never seen another one on the road over here since Ive had it.

I'd love to know if you ended up getting a 2006 black CF..these cars seem to be very rare over here.
