Default Swap from Megan Racing Muffler to Magnaflow Catback?

Hi all,

Last February I had the Megan Racing M-RS muffler installed on my 2005 Base Coupe (6 speed). I love the sound, but I'm wondering if there would be a benefit of switching to the Magnaflow Catback for our cars.

I'm sure the sound is similar, but are there horsepower gains to be had with the Magnaflow?

My problem is, when I had the muffler installed, the guy that did it cut the OEM muffler off, and had to bend a new piece of pipe/weld the new muffler on. So maybe that is creating unnecessary back pressure, or something?

I notice when I downshift into 2nd at lower RPM's/speeds, there is a loud popping sound that comes from my exhaust. It really started doing it after I added my Needswings DCAI. Would the Magnaflow exhaust increase my car's ability to "breathe"? (And eliminate/lessen the "popping" issue?)

Mainly, I just want to know if, in conjunction with my Needswings DCAI (and soon-to-be-had Eurocharged tune), the Magnaflow Catback exhaust would add a noticeable amount of horsepower.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Regards,
Eric
