Default Re: Swap from Megan Racing Muffler to Magnaflow Catback?

Save your $$$. I actually prefer the note of the Megan over the Magnaflow.

Secondly, the muffler only gains you a TINY amount of horsepower. As long as you still have stock headers, all four cats, and factory piping, the biggest change you get is in your ears.

I have an Ansa muffler, and trapped a higher trap speed than another Limited owner that has a Magnaflow catback. The Ansa sounds great but a quick peek at the inside lets you know it's no race muffler.

With the NW DCAI, Eurocharged tune, and the Megan muffler, you should be in the mid/low 14's with a decent launch.

I ran two weeks ago with a EC tune, C320 intake and Ansa muffler and clocked a time of 14.8 @ 96.7... but my 60' times were horrid at 2.3

The Limited 6-speed NEEDS a bit of wheel spin, otherwise it simply bogs. There was so much VHT on the track that I couldn't even do a proper burnout. Every "launch" was a 3,500 RPM clutch drop and it bogged down to 1,500rpm on the takeoff.

Instead of spending $400 on a catback that *might* gain 2hp, save your pennies and jump in on the header group-buy. Then you'll get some real ponies.
