To be fair at that section of road between the merger of 24/40E is normally a 70 mph flow of traffic. Especially in the morning since that's junction takes him out of 45/55 mph traffic and onto empty interstate heading away from the city.

We all know the when traffic is going to lift on our routes to and from work and at times push it hard just because we're finally free of the traffic jam. I can imagine this being one of those area's were traffic goes from being extremely heavy to non existent in under a mile.
