Re: total bs
This thread really caught my eye. Just a few weeks back I was traveling on one of my favorite back roads. It's very smooth and virtually empty. Well, I was feeling a little bored and decided, (as I often do on this road), to venture into the triple digits. I passed a couple of cars at a buck ten, when lo' and behold, there sat a full grown on the side of the road. I wasn't aware he was a highway patrolman till I went by him at eighty. I always slow for breakdowns. Well, he pulled me over and asked me that age old question. Do you know why I pulled you over? I of course turned turned immediately into Forest Gump. No sir, I have no idea. I was just running. He said that I was doing 108, held at 108 for awhile then slowed to 80. I then quickly turned into the rain man. No sir, I'm a very good driver. I was doing 70 then slowed to 60 when I saw a car on the side broke down. I'm a very good driver... Well your speedometer must be off, have you changed tire sizes recently. I beamed, (Thanks Rudy), that yes I had. He went back to his cruiser, came back with the dreaded manilla 4X10 card I have become much to familiar with. He told me he was cutting me a break due to my having a CDL. I recieved a ticket for, (drum roll please), 65 in a 55 Mph zone. He told me I should check my speedometer sometime, wear your seatbelt, and have a good day. My only complaint would be the cost of $143.00 for ten over. It seems like a lot. But tons better than what I damn well deserved!!!
