I found on Daimler-Chrysler's website that total sales of the Crossfire through Dec 2003 was 4,021. Their "investor relations release" for Chrysler January sales didn't even list the Crossfire (strange).

This brings TOTAL sales through Jan 2004 to 4,491 which is obviously much lower than projected.
