Would you want a big truck 2 seconds behind you. As long as your anticipatory driving style works, why not? We indeed live by different rules. But a 2 second rule in a car is insane. You should have at least one car length for every 10Mph. That's six and a half at sixty five. When your driving to work tomorrow try it. If a car gets between you and is going faster than you or the six second car your behind cover the brake and let him go. You don't have to slow down as long as he is going to out pace you both. I'm telling you, if you follow these rules you will have a much more pleasant/ less stressful trip.
You initially said you crowd the "left lane". All the interstates around here tell the trucks to use the two right lanes. Left lane = fast lane. If you're crowding that lane, you're crowding the cars that are supposed to be there. As said earlier, it all comes down to common sense, and if you CAN make room for the HP, do it.
I think I did a good enough job clarifying my intent. Regardless, he wasn't sure he did, or tried to do anything to aid the situation. The ticket will surely remind him in the future. And so far I've yet to see him complain about my post. Methinks thou dost protest to much.
