95' = 3 car lengths? That's VERY conservative, haha.
@ 70mph, you travel 205.33 feet in two seconds. Given the average car in America is ~18' (based on parking spaces... some more, some less) that's over eleven car-lengths between you and the car in front of you.
If staying back seven seconds (718 feet, or
40 car-lengths) makes you feel safe, by all means go for it. All I ask, is that you exercise such caution in the right lane. I'll be passing by on the left.
The
safest situation is clear & simple: don't drive at all.
This also solves the problem of tickets.
