Alabama shade tree solution : find ( or construct ) a piece of metal about 1" long with 2 holes in it the size the retainer screw will go through.
Bend it to 90 degrees and bolt the CPS on with it under the bolt.
Use a couple of small tie-wraps, one around the wire before the connector, the other through that one and the other hole in the bracket you made.
