You would think that the car would be purring differently if there was a cat in the exhaust! Has your car been purring differently? Maybe purring while it's turned off? If so you definitely have a cat stuck in the exhaust and I would have to agree about placing a can of cat food to get the cat out. Also please take pictures of the cat when it comes out I would like to see this!
