I don't know why you would need an indicator for a manual, just look at or feel the stick (no purient comments necessary). My old Saturns had a "time to shift" light that used to drive me nuts. After a half millon miles in manual cars, I don't need to be told when to shift.

And to continue the rant, who needs a car that can park itself? What happened to being able to DRIVE a car??
