Re: Chrysler to Replace '05 Convertible Tops Under TSB - YAHOO!!
For the warranty work -
I found a dealership (Gossett) in Memphis who has multiple technicians with Crossfire certification, and has replaced several Crossfire tops. The service rep told me without hesitation that they send the car to one independent shop in Memphis for this work.
The service rep said I'd need to bring the car in to let them take photos, which they'll send to Chrysler. If Chrysler determines the glass to be adequately separated (my wording), they approve, then send the new top to the dealership. Then I have to take the car back for the work. For a OEM quality top at no cost to me, I can certainly do that.
For those of you who have had this done already, does this describe basically the process you went through? Did Chrysler deny any of you who were covered by the extended warranty, because the window was not adequately separated? I've already repaired both ends, and the result is beautiful, but since summer, the entire lower edge is separating, and a portion is open enough that all the rain on the window can pour in.
I've seen no real negative comments from those of you who have gotten this work done under warranty. Anybody sorry they let the dealership have it to get the top replaced?
Thanks,
Michael
