Funny, in my 2004 service manual set, it indicates (Page 8W 62-2) the mirrors are hot when ignition on all the time. Apparently they redone the wiring to run only when the rear defogger is activated. Does anyone have a later year service manual to check this? The mirrors circuit is listed in my set as 8W 62, it may be somewhere else if they redid the wiring.
I think I saw somewhere on the forum that earlier models turn on with rear defrost, but later models do not (maybe based on temp?). I like the rear defrost control option the best (more control)!
