I think this is fantastic! My daily driver/work vehicle is a diesel truck, and several thousands of us with the same truck send in our oil sample to Blackstone. This large data base of analysis gives them a great comparison with our engine specific, and tells when something is starting to break/wear down in the engine. It is like an autopsy(except for the dead part) for the engine. It is a more important test for diesel trucks IMO, but I would love to hear the results of some higher mileage xfires, srt6's. The more owners that do this, the better. It gives them a better database for comparison.
To paraphrase their website; "oil analysis is a quick, nondestructive way to gauge the health of an engine by looking at what's in the oil". They can check for any problems developing (coolant in the oil, any and all internal metal breakdown, or determine if less frequent oil changes are acceptable; a cost savings,or if more frequent changes are in order). I'll be adding a second vehicle to my Blackstone account when I do my next oil change. I look forward to your results atlsrt44.
