My main concerns are any thing to look out for on high cost repairs? I can do most of my own work except big stuff.. I actually dont mind the manual as an automatic seems expensive if it goes.. hopefully the clutch isnt that much? I drove it and clutch seemed OK no slip from wha ti can tell. gears were all good.. seemed a little harder from first to second (is this normal?)
anyway they are asking 11k with 57,000 miles in red. seem OK? what should I check further?

The notchy 1-2 shift is normal for these cars. My 04 has exactly the same miles and I've really had no problems to speak of.
Body parts availablity can be a problem, but you have 100's of forum members right here to help you locate what you may need in the future.
Check for rust under the door seal, (use it as a bargining tool) it's an easy diy fix.
All I can tell you is I wouldn't sell mine for a $11k.
Red is a great color for the XF....Good Luck.
