stock pads would be a 1 or 2 dot. when installing lowering springs the fronts are usually a 3 to 5 dot pad are used as that fine tunes the drop. its only 4 mm per dot. you have another issue unless they added pads on top of the stock pads
My car came with dot 5 pads OEM, so I think they used everything and only 1 way to know, take it out and look, or feel the 'bumps' on the rubber stop while it is in place.
The other thing to consider, is if your front springs were broken (both of my front springs had nearly a coil broken off them) that you will not see that big of a drop. Just a possibility. Also, if you are redoing it, I would make sure to cut the bump stops on the shocks so you dont bottom them out...
