So he does seem to know a bit about this car.
As a Dad, I would listen to him. Sports cars, back up car, go hand in hand. The clutch is what it is... Clutches are just things you will get used to. Old days, you could mess with adjusting the clutch to engage close to the floor. It wasn't a good idea back then and can't be done today anyway. People in the old days would do that, and wouldn't have any "free travel" left in the clutch. Look for one, or call the guy in a few "snowy" weeks and make him a low ball offer.....good luck...
