Not sure I underestand problem completely, but I had a Problem with my convert. back in april. I also replaced my fuel filter. After I replaced with an Auto Zonu unit it worked for about 3 weeks. Then I had problems starting it. I had to crank and crank.. I checked the fuel rail pressure, and once car is shut off pressure drops to 0 immediately. That tell that the filter is stuck open. There is a valve in there that opens and closes depending on pressure . It regulates the pressure from fuel pump. once pressure is achieved, valve in filter opens. Mine was sticking open, therefore not letting system build up pressure. Hope this helps. You can rent fuel rail filter from auto zone . its free.
