The bully's knowing his Dad was a cop, ask him what he was going to do about it, tell his Dad, get his Dad's gun? He answered "If he had too." That was enough for a 5 day suspension. Lose of grades. The bully's, got nothing. We, Mom and Dad were summoned from our work to come get him, then were treated like the worse parents ever. As you can imagine, Ole' Doc, blew a fuse like never before. I looked the principal, vice principal right in their dumbass eyes, and said, The only one you will ever have fear walking in that door with a gun is me. Me coming to arrest the bullying SOB's that just battered my son, followed by cameras from the local news stations. You explain to them how a handicaped kid can be bullied while teachers stand by and watch, and only react when gun is mentioned. He did what he had to do to defend himself. I told the deputy who interviewed my son to arrest me and my son, but keep in mind you just broke the law by questioning a minor without the parents there. Illegal in this state. I told the judge my story when this went to a hearing, she threw it out, asked for the principals to come to her court. But my son in his junior year didn't want to go back there to graduate. After a talk with the school boards atty, the principal decided to move on. My son graduated the next year without incident. I made a pac with two of the biggest kids in school that had been in trouble before on the streets, to look after my son, that I would look after them....I didn't trust the school system to do that. It worked...no problems. I hate public school systems...

Doc, a couple of similar things happened to our daughter (gone now rest her soul) and son. 4 girls on the school bus was bullying her daily. I told her to get the driver and guidance councellor involved. That didn't work. I told her to try talking to them like adults, that made it worse. I told her to take the head bully on one to one and she did. She got suspended after beating the crap out of her on the bus. With the document trail, she still got suspended, but after the beating the 4 left her alone. Years later, our son got jumped on the bus coming home one day. One pinned his arms from behind while the other punched him in the eye busting his glasses. He threw the guy off him that pinned him, knocked the guy who hit him square in the nose (sat him right down), driver got involved and the bus dropped him off at the stop. I called a sheriff deputy, filled out a complaint, and they served the two a summons. The school threw our son off the bus for three days, the two got a two week suspension, and they treated them to pretrial intervention. After the judge asked them what they think they did wrong and they responded 'nothin', he gave em both a 100 hour community service order, restitution for the glasses, and made the assult a permanent part of their school record. They were brothers, both much taller and heavier than our son, but they knew not he was a 1st degree black belt (now a third degree BB serving in USAF in Minot AFB working on nuke warheads). The Mother and Father were at the pretrial, the old man looked like arnold (bodybuilder) and tried to tell me that kids will be kids. They left him alone after that day forward and some of the kids on that bus actually joined his classes for a year. The school system has many problems, one being they are unable to stop bullying. I totally agreed with how both of our kids handled these separate situations, and give a failing grade to public school systems.
