DO NOT buy a pump or filter at the Chrysler dealer as you will pay the Mercedes price plus a very large mark-up.
You have an extended warranty.......
use it,
that's why you have it.
It probably is just one of the two parts that has failed, why pay for both if you insist on doing it and not using the warranty? The fuel system should be tested to find which part or parts are failing.
Paying for both parts and finding the problem still exists would be rather upsetting.
It is all well and good for someone to say go to so and so and buy from them, but why replace and pay for a part that is 100% OK?
Some peoples loyalty to a vendor is sometimes suspect and there a hint of bias in it I fear, especially when that vendor is currently doing something for them or they are expecting some future involvement with them. I am positive that this vendor is very good but throwing out their name every time is like some people always saying that the battery or RCM at fault no matter the actual symptoms.
