You do not know it is the pump for sure and getting one fitted prior to a diagnosis would be a waste of money if it was the filter at fault. There is always the possibility of a leaky injector, but let's not go there.

Get the diagnosis and a written (not verbal) report, do not insist on a pump replacement, as if they can they will replace the pump and filter and ding you with more cost. You want this problem fixed at the least possible cost to you. Hopefully a diagnosis fee, the deductible and taxes, no more.

If I had this problem and I did the repair myself and had no diagnosis tools available, I would change both while I had the system apart. A dealer may do the same just to make more money.
