folding motors for outside mirrors
This is mainly addressed to onehundred80 since he seems to know all this kinda stuff, but anyone is free to voice an opinion.
The question is : I was looking thru the 2004 repair manual schematics today for info on the auto-dim interior mirror wiring, and ran across one schematic that shows three ( yes 3 ) motors in each outside mirror.
One of these motors in each mirror is the "folding" motor. What possible purpose could this serve ?
Why would you need interior control of folding the mirrors ?
Another question along this same thread : why does the schematic show the outside mirror "heat" coils directly wired from switched hot to ground. Are they really on all the time the car is running ? Seems to me, they should be controlled by either the rear window defrost, or the windshield defrost position on the heater switch.
Just wondering. If they really are on all the time, I'd guess that 95% of them have burned out long ago.
