OK. I'll tell you my lifes' story:
I read myself BLIND re-reading and re-reading and re-reading all of the posts/threads about "spring pads" and "Eibach" and "lowering" and have yet to find a post with actual parts used and the final lowered height after all is done. I realize, now, that it's a toss-up as to which pads any given Crossfire might have been delivered with. Maybe it has something to do with which STATE (hot or cold) it was delivered to. Kinda' like the Roadster tops?
I'm a cheap bastardo and I only want to do this once.
I'm also a fat bastardo and don't want the car to look like it was through a crusher when my big butt, and my sons' bigger butt is in it. (Together we are well over MAX GVW for the Crossfire).
If I assume I have 2 in front and 3 in back, I must then:
go with 5 dot in front as per TVT "Best Combo" recommendation. Right? To prevent rubbing. Right? This will provide ~ 1/2" drop in the front? Right?
And to offset my girth, I go with 4 dot in the back, it will lower it 1.3" - 1 dot (4 mm/ .156") or about 1.144"". Right? If I'm off by a dot, I can live with that.
As it sits right now, with a full tank of gas and no luggage/people in it I have ~2.75" from the lip to the top of the rear tires.
So, it's NOT a no-brainer. I have one and it HURTS!
Recommendations are welcome and solicited. I PM'ed 32Krazy! with questions. But just a short while ago and haven't heard back yet.
MikeR, What Make/Model/Year do you enter to find these? I only get one part selected with no thickness options ('05 Crossfire). Aaarrrgggghhhhh! I consider myself really good at online shopping and ferreting out stuff I want but this is maddening!
So, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
And, just to make it all crystal clear: I'm running a 19/20 stagger with 235's in front and 275's in back. OEM spacing and diameter (running height).
I made a pair of adjustable camber arms for the rear and will buy the "Collision Repair" bolts for the front.
Help me. please? Suicide is the next option and I don't want the boy to get this car! Unless I can take it with me...
