that's funny- got a chuckle with that!

two schools of thought on break-in:

old school ...go easy on revs and speed for 4-5,000 miles or
new school ...run it hard- show no mercy

The reason being that the older engine design needed rings etc. to seat properly - tolerances were not as precise.
new engine design has far better, more precise engineering tolerances and ready to be rode hard and put up wet.

Actually there is a third school that subscribes to both of these:
ie: ride hard for brief periods and then go easy...

there is a web site that explains all of this which i will try to remember...
