When I ran 285's on my stock wheels I seemed to get less traction that with the stock 255's. I believe the wheel was too narrow and led to the tire not setting flush against the road. Just my 2 cents.
I'm very happy with the performance of my 275's.
I believe going with a wider tire is purely for looks not function on this car
And I would agree 275's work great for these cars
On my wifes srt6 she is running 295 30 19 and they seem to hold up just fine, but I do feel as though traction was lost on the both...maybe its in my head, but heck I haven't run a 255 since the day's we bought the car back in 05...
