Bostmonkey mods: Custom dual intake, K&Ns, 3" tubing
I also completed my custom intake. For most folks wanting a performance intake, I would have to say just order the Needswings intake. It's very good. I have a need to do things myself though. So here is how my custom intake turned out:

- All 3" mandrel bent aluminum tubing and silicone couplers from mandrel-bends.com.
- BIG K&N filters
- E55 AMG Y-pipe
This intake is 3" end-to-end, so, yes, I cut the vertical supports underneath the upper radiator support. It is quite stiff without them. I also reloced the horns, an AC line slightly, and the secondary air pump. That make be coming off entirely soon.
The horns are behind the driver's side fog light now.

The PS cooler line is gone. I don't think it is necessary. If I ever do think I need a PS cooler I'll install a real PS cooler.
The 90* bend on the driver's side is a really tight fit. I removed the plastic cover over the hood latch cable. The high pressure AC valve is also right in the way, so it forced me to put that bend slightly further forward. I had to trim the slats off the back of the grill on that side to make it fit. The grill DOES fit on. I hope to replace it with a mesh one like 32crazy's though.
With a mesh grill I should be able to fit a supercooler. I left a little extra length of tubing inside the hump connectors to be able to slide everything out an inch or two to get past a supercooler.
