I've been trying to get answers from the major sports car sanctioning bodies as to the home class for the Crossfire and have only gotten one response so far from the National Auto Sport Association NASA. which stated:
"We don't have a specific class where the car would fit, but you can run it
in our Super Unlimited (SU) class where the only requirements are proper
safety equipment such as a roll cage, competition seatbelts, and other gear.
SU is home to a variety of cars, so I don't know how competitive the car
would be, but at least you'd be able to come out and race with us".
Yeah, right!!! SU "Super Unlimited" with full race prepped Vipers and Z06's etc... LOL... I'd be a hazard on the same track with those guys...
The only classification I have found so far is for SCCA SOLO II which puts the car in DS or DSP class depending on the mods.. But SOLO racing is basically individual time trails, chasing cones in parking lots. Not fun, I've been running road courses for 20+ years...
SCCA, and IMSA have not yet responded to my query for a club racing category...
So, I guess for the time being I'll have to stick with Track Days with the various non-sanctioned groups that I run with... I'll keep everyone informed with what transpires...
