To my knowledge there is no maintenance on the transmissions. They're sealed units. That said, you're right about how it was treated. This guy is a doctor though, and he said most of the miles were highway as he commuted back and forth to see his then girlfriend, now wife.
If true, and most miles were on flat highway, the tranny hasn't been shifting back and forth nearly as much as with town driving. I think that's a plus.
There's just so much that goes wrong with these cars- - this one has just hade a new pcm put in- - it had the stopping issue. If I bought the car I would have 800 mile commute back home. I couldn't deal with that stopping all of a sudden issue if the pcm didn't really fix it.
I know 180K, I should expect anything. At the same time I don't really want something that's going to be a problem child every time I go out to start it.
