Mine indicated the vehicle protocol as KWP2000; I entered 3.2L for engine size. 50 gauges were selected as I recall.

I will try the install process again and see what happens....maybe this time I will start the motor to make sure the ignition is in the "RUN" position before I plug in the gauge.
Look Over the info on "forcing protocol" in the manual... This might help your situation.
