Default Re: Disabling Seatbelt Chime/Alarm WITHOUT cutting any wires!

From GraphiteGhosts post of Jan 07 '2012
Edited to post in the sticky, 'Index of Crossfire problems and How To's'.

I keep seeing people advising owners to cut wires to disable the seatbelt reminder chimes. THIS IS NOT NECESSARY! There is a simple procedure to disable the chime that works! I found this out here on the forum and did it to mine, it works! Do the following!

DISABLING THE SEATBELT WARNING CHIME!

From our friend Thomas Whyle... (Credit given)

The correct procedure for the Crossfire is as follows:

1)Turn key to ON/START - within 60 seconds, turn ignition OFF and fasten the driver seat belt.

2)Start engine and wait for the seat belt light to turn off.

3)Within 60 seconds unbuckle/re buckle the seat belt 3 times - ending with buckled, you will hear a single chime (sometimes this verification chime is slightly different just the same it works to disable the chime).

This confirms you have turned the repeater chimes off. Repeat the sequence or disconnect the battery to restore the reminder function."

Disconnecting the battery will reset the chime and you'll have to do it again!

Now, all you folks that butchered your seat wiring, please return it to normal as someone may want that chime to work down the road!
