Re: Anybody watching Barrett Jackson
I was there most of the week doing buffer demos at our big rig, but I had plenty of time to walk the grounds and check out the cars up close and personal. Some real beauties but some absolutely horrid garbage, too. Yesterday they sold a BMW 2002 coupe that was described as a no expense spared restoration that included fully stripping the body before primer and paint. They must have Painted it with a broom, and not a nice broom, either. And then they patched the thin spots with a rattle can in a reasonably close shade of the same red. Such a cool little car, but a total mess.
At least the Austin-Healey 3000 that sold for almost $120k was a darn near flawless Kurt Tanner restoration. Man, I wish I could afford one of his works of art - they are always among the most stunningly prepared at any Barrett venue.
