As a base for driving, we would want to be on the outskirts of Tahoe or in Reno so that we could avoid the traffic around the lake. Especially once the weather gets nice. You can get bottenecked way too many places and be stuck for hours. (I know from many many many times of experience. There are no real alternate route when you are around the lake as well. Heck for the best driving roads the best place to start out would actually be Carson City, NV or Virgina City NV. Both very very close (30-45min away.) They have great access to some great driving in all directions.
Hi Francis, It seems you've got a good handle on steering us around the area when we get there.
It is most beautiful there and Dina and I would definitely make it to this event; I hope it can happen. Don't forget that Reno has one of the top 10 auto museums in the Country; National Auto Museum (The Harrah Collection)
