Why would the safety of UK babies not be as important to Chrysler as USA babies?

Then again, the side panel starts with 170 xx xxx xx, so it's a R-170 part, which is Mercedes-Benz. Germans don't care for Brits, so... that might explain it.

In my collection of all things Crossfire I have the UK SRT6 Owners manual and it says DO PUT A CHILD IN A REAR FACING SEAT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT period.
Somehow I had the impression that this was a UK car, but I could not verify this when I reread the posts.

One year olds and up in a front facing seat only. The front passenger air bag in these cars cannot be turned off. Any modifications to do this would be illegal I guess.

No babies in the front seat, throw them in the back with the groceries.
