I did a 'hard reset' with the negative battery terminal off for more than 30 minutes and have done my damn near daily resets with the key, no effect.
I cleaned the hell out of the TB before installing and there is no way that much grime could get in there that quickly when my 50K mile was relatively clean when it came out.
Thanks for the ideas though, always better to have multiple heads on the same issue...
