Based on the reviews I've seen of it, I might like being one of those clowns.

Despite my German blood, I don't think vehicles are fun only when they're loud and sideways in the corners... nimble and controlled is just as fun to me.

The Abarth has a lineage of quirkiness, craziness even. I wouldn't like the regular 500 as it truly seems anemic, but the Abarth is a hot little hatch. Give me one in black w/ red accents and I'm a happy camper. Clearly i'd keep the SRT as a weekend toy, but I quite like the little hatch for daily commuting, parking, and the occasional twisty secondary road.

A buddy of mine has one and he loves the handling. Says it has a lot of lift-throttle oversteer, which is unusual for a car of this type. Tires are tiiiiiiny but grippy.

It's not a proper sports car, but it's not as dumb as the Smart. The Prius is an embarrassment to motoring. Not even on the same level as the Abarth.

The Maserati edition shown above won't even hit US shores...
