Well the shots I've only done on a few occasions but with my artificial heart valve I'm on the blood thinners for life.
Been taken them daily since 2003.
Test my blood (INR) at home twice a month to ensure I keep it at the correct level.
Just follow what they say and I'm sure you will be just fine.
