I found when fixing my flap cable, it was the inner cable snaging on the outer that was causing the problem. it was easier to remove the whole cable, cut the inner cable free and reuse the outer..purchase a length of inner cable refit in outer and solder two correct size nipples, and refit..a couple of pounds, not sixty!

If you can't solder, use adjustable nipples with screw ends..
