Never never ever say that you feel dumb! Show me someone who never failed and I'll show you someone who never did anything or took any risks. Only by doing something and it not going right do we learn. I'll tell you a brief story about my first oil change. I got the oil, filter, tools to do the job. I put one can of engine flush in the oil cap, and ran it for 15 minutes like it said. I then took the drain plug off and changed the filter. I let it drain (drip, drip, drip) for about 15 minutes and wiped the drain plug and dipstick. I then opened each quart of oil one can at a time and put it in the oil fill on the valve cover. 5 quarts later I checked the level, and nothing registered. Yeppers, you guessed it, I forgot to put the oil plug back into the oil pan! Way back in 1973, oil was very cheap, but that lesson has stuck with me for almost 40 years. I (since then) recheck everything before adding any fluids twice! So its not being 'dumb', its just a learning curve. So come on in, tell us all these stories! Learn all about our cars, and save bundles of cash with the help you get here in this forum. In closing, I probably would have looked at the bulb number and got what was in it as well. Why would I doubt the bulb number that came out? Peace my friend!
