There is always GooGone, or DW-40, but one simple product that will not harm the paint is lighter fluid. It comes in a squirt bottle (used to fill old fashion flip-top lighters) apply to a soft rag and soak the residue to soften it. You may have use it several times to get it all. Then apply a coat of car wax.
