That's because it is. Cold air is denser than warm air and will contain more oxygen per given unit of volume. More oxygen means the ecu can squirt more fuel, and of course that means a greater release of energy when the spark plugs fire. That's why you will see the import tuner turbo guys pack their intercoolers with dry ice when they do performance testing in warm weather.
