this is perfect way to read your tranny fluid,, use any thing that will go to the bottom of the pan,, Woody's is a great way and cost is less than $.015 a 36" zip tie is great,, all you need to know is, if the fluid is less than 1" from the bottom you are two low...and if it is more than 1 3/4 you are overfull. anywhere in that 3/4 of an inch you are good. this is right from a Mercedes mech,, Oh he has a 40" dip stick because some dip stick tubs are longer than others but the reading on all are the same, the E55 tranny tube is 17" long the sl55 is 14 long yet the c63 is 27"long and the SRT6 is 12" i think don't quote me on those lengths.
