One must remember that a large portion of the target market for the iPhone is the "sorority girl" with nigh enough intellect to run a toaster, much less customize a tech gadget. So, yes the iPhone is more popular for them because they can simply turn it on, add a lot of free apps with bright colors, and it works. Suddenly they're "techy".
iPhones are like Instagram. Instagram is the
autotune for wannabe shutterbugs. You can be a positively shitty photographer but with "Instagram to the rescue", suddenly everything's in sepia-tone and Kincaid is contacting you for rights to the photo.
I view my gadgets the same way Louis C.K. does: even the worst gadget can communicate with a satellite and make the trip from Earth to space back to Earth in
seconds... Considering space travel was but a dream 60 years ago, we've come a long way. If it takes my phone 20 seconds (aka forever) to update a status that no one cares about, it's still an outright miracle.
