I've only read about one problem with top hydraulics. Mine has had absolutely no problems. If you need to leave top outside you will have to apply periodic waterproofing to the top.(I would use the same stuff that I use on my boat covers, which can be obtained at a good marine supply store or BOAT USA). If you put the car away for the roadster, follow the directions in the manual. Make sure you leave the top up for the winter. A box of DCON in the car if you put the car away is always good to keep away mice. I had one build a nest in a Fiat 200 from stuffing in the seats. Just wash the top with soap to keep dirt off of it when you put it down. Also you need to indoctrinate your roadster by getting a beautiful women to ride topless in it with the top down.
