Mark, I understand your thinking and what you did can be a good piece of mind. I would do the same thing if I had a vehicle that I overworked or towed with.

For better than a year now, I have monitored my engine temp with the Ultragauge. Very seldom, even at the Dragon, temps never seem to go over 205° when hard working the engine. I don't feel that is dangerous for our engines.

Now back when I climbed to Pike's Peak Summit last year at CAA, the temp jumped to 214° at the high altitude along with the steep hill. Once stopped, the temp came right back to 200° within a minute or so. And yes the fan was running the entire time.
