Because just by changing the diameter of your tire by 1" is almost like removing the 3.27 gear ratio, in your NA car, and giving it a higher gear ratio closer to the 3.07 that's in your SRT.
A 255/35/19 tire is just as wide as a 285/35/19, but the 285 is 9/10's of an inch taller. Thus slowing down the cars acceleration.
If you're not drag racing, it shouldn't matter to ya though.

Aren't stock 255/40/19? I don't really care - the car reads almost the exact same MPH & looks 100000% better. Yup, I like the tires that much more!
