the amount of tape is not as necessary as the prep of where you place it. If you use a heavy duty cleaner/degreaser on both the ballast and piece you are sticking it to, it will hold like super glue (if the piece is glossy, rough it up a little before cleaning). I have had several attached this way for well over a year, and have done multiple track days where the car got put through its paces when it is 95+ degrees out, no signs the tape will not hold.
It is serious stuff, just needs to be prepped correctly for best adhesion. Hope this helps...
Ah good deal...thx! If they do happen to shift around again I am going to re-tape and ensure that the surfaces are prepped like you are saying.
