You mean the car does not change up or down while moving, that sounds like limp mode.
The dealer cannot tell you whats wrong but they know how much it costs to fix. Amazing.
I'd say an honest $1,000 at the most. If it is the electrical plate or the valve plate each can be changed on its own. There is no need to change both, I had that problem and they changed just one small component on the electrical plate. I commented here that my fix was done under warranty, had it been a customer pay job it would have had all the parts changed.
