I tend to have the same problem.

I am thinking about meeting with a local guy about a custom exhaust myself. I was thinking that 2.5" - 2.75" would be a better choice for all around use. He also builds headers but the last quote I got (2nd hand) was ~$2k for custom headers - at least for a V8.
